Three!

Yep, Bingham is three!

I was talking with the kids yesterday and they said even though Bingham has only been with us for 3 years, it's hard to remember life without him. Well, I do. I remember feeling very comfortable with three kids, very content, but I couldn't stop myself from wanting one more round of tiny toes, chunky legs and sweet baby smells. I was feeling a little selfish in my endeavors until I announced that #4 would be a boy. Austin literally leaped into Phil's arms out of pure excitement, and I knew this little guy would play an important part in our family. I remember at one point holing little Laser Boy, and a little memory of being content with three drifted through my mind. My heart almost broke with just the thought of almost settling for not having this sweet babe in my life.

His kingly manner is not something that is demanded, but that is given willingly by his brother and sisters, and usually his parents too.

Always up for an adventure and rarely left behind. As I was looking through some of his baby pictures, it surprised me how much he was included in everything, even if he was only being carried in the Bingham bag.

He got a bike for his birthday, and I couldn't believe the focus and determination of this kid to figure those pedals out. Now, I'm not naming any names, but other children in similar situations would have completely lost their cool or given up completely, but he just kept pluggin' away until he had it down.

We have had some crazy moments with markers, potty training and kitchen knives, but for the most part Bingham has been a very pleasant 2 year old, and we all are looking forward to chasing after this laser boy for another year.

Lazy Mom

I walked into the kitchen tonight to make dinner and there was Soni eating a bowl of oatmeal. She looks up and says, "Mom, your lazy."

I thought she was referring to the fact that she had to make her own oatmeal, and I thought to myself, maybe she's right, but just for kicks I asked her why she thought I was lazy.

Her comment, "Because you make us clean our own rooms....your just so lazy."

Yep, I'm lazy.

Dora Debunked

Last night I was reading a stack of Dora books to Bingham and Soni and we got to a part where Dora asks a question, like "Which way do we go?"

Soni stopped me and said, "Look at her smile, I think she already knows the answer."

Soni was completely serious, but me and Eve could hardly contain our giggles.

Big Plans

Last night Austin came home from cub scouts so excited he could hardly speak. Face red and a big grin he said, "Guess what we got to do tonight!"

So I'm thinking....light a fire indoors....use a chain saw unattended....launch granades in the parking lot....what in the world would have this kid so excited???

"We learned to sew!"

heh...not kidding. He hasn't been able to convice his friend of how cool it is, be we did pick out some camo material today at the store, and he's got big plans...big plans I say.

A little this and that...

I finished another quilt top for Joie. The last one was smaller and a lot harder. This one came together so easy and I think it's much more cute. Now I just need to find the perfect back. Maybe while I look I'll hurry and finish the other one, now that my fear is gone.

Austin had his first week in cub scouts this week. He was so excited, and when he was done he folded up his uniform so neat and tidy....he's been holding out on me.

Angel and the chickens have finally come to an understanding, so I've been able to let them out into the yard almost every day. I get a kick out of seeing them strutting around. We're getting about 4 eggs a day, so I guess I'll keep 'em around.

Our rooster is a Dominique, we have 3 Easter eggers, a minorca (i think) and a turken.

Bingham is still adjusting to the no nap schedule, so about twice a week we find him like this. Then one of the older kids says, "Ohh, he's so cute" then run and get the camera, so we have lots of sleeping Bingham pictures.

Phil and I are doing a cleanse....it's been pretty interesting...it's nick named the lemon cleanse if anyone whats to look it up. Good experience so far, the bad part is I'm going to miss out on the best RS meeting ever....PIE NIGHT! Seriously, does it get any better than that? OK, better would be me being able to sample every single delicious pie there, instead of sipping down soup and water. So it goes. :)

Happy New Year

We had so much fun last night, and learned a lot too.

Here's a brief recap of lessons learned:

"Go Fish" is an intensely competitive game.

That my oldest three children each have perfected the evil laugh.

That my kids don't just crack me up, they bust me open with uncontrollable laughter.

That Soni laughs non-stop when she is REALLY tired. (k,I knew that, but I have never heard her laugh for an hour straight)

And most importantly, that my goal for the new year is to not wait a whole year to play like this again.
