Fancy Sonya

Have you ever read "Fancy Nancy"? Pretty funny book. We read it over a year ago, but today I lived it in real life. Soni spent all day planning a fancy party for us all. We were all supposed to wear fancy clothes. She told me my wedding dress would be fine. I talked her down to Sunday clothes, and then luckily, she forgot. She had several games planned and everything matched and setup perfectly (small melt down when we couldn't find the matching purple plate). I didn't think the kids would be too excited about eating dry oats, so I suggested we make brownies to help entice.

Friday's Funnies...Wouldn't that be convenient

Austin took a break from playing with Bingham to comment that he couldn't wait until Bingham could really talk. I told him that Bingham says all kinds of words. He says, "Yeah, but maybe when he's four he could say convenient " (as he said it he really emphasized all the syllables...like he had been practicing it himself). So now when Austin is at school, me and Bingham are practicing the word convenient....won't he be surprised.



We love to go on walks on Sunday evenings. I took this picture on our walk...it totally cracks me up. Eve's parka and shorts, Austins tough ninja pose while wearing girl shoes (k, maybe you wouldn't notice the shoes, but it took a lot of convincing to get him to wear them since his others were missing, so I need to rub it in a bit), and Soni's attack pose. Good times, good times.

Bingham's Photo Shoot

I took Bingham out for some pictures before church...one of the advantages of having late church, even still I only had a couple minutes. The current picture of Bingham on my wall is almost two years old! How did I let this happen? All my grand ideas of having pics of the kids at the same ages just slipped away with this little rascal....what a cutie.

Eve made pancakes. She has gotten very good at it. But this time she didn't use a recipe. She tried some new ingredients. Angel has been chewing on this one for a week.

Friday's Funnies...So out of shape!

This is what Eve made for all 24 of her classmates (plus 19 of Austin's). They open up into little pockets where she put the candy and a to/from note. Last year she wrote individual rhyming poems for each of the kids in her class. The bad news is that she got sick and didn't get to go to her party....what a bummer....I had to go without her, since I was in charge of the food, and pass them all out for her. The kids loved them, and I felt so bad she wasn't there to hear their praise.

Soni settled for simple sucker cards for her class, but wrote a note to put on the basket she carried them in. It said Bon Appetit....completely her idea, and she made me look it up to make sure she spelled it right.

Soni was such an easy little toddler, always playing quietly and asking permission. I got soft and slow. Now I feel the pain of strained awareness that has been long without use. Bingham is running me ragged and I am so out of shape! When he's up to trouble I say Bingham what ya doing? and he says ufing (that's nothing)...now all I have to do is say Bingham and he replies with ufing. He has also taken to telling us all, very politely to "quiet".
